Samus primed

So with the month of Smash out of the way it's time to go back and revisit a few of the sketches.
First up is Samus. I decided to switch up the suit from Other M to Prime 1. I have to say the M version is a much simpler design. I may have gone a little overdone with the shoulder here but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out.
Hmm which one next?

Zero Mission Speedrun

I'm all for the new Samus options in Smash Bros announced yesterday.
Inspired by the art from the endings of Zero Mission and Fusion. Both BGA games are still some of my favorite Metroid games:)

Power Bomb

More Smash Bros sketching. My favorite bounty hunter:)
I found "the Other M"power suit quite easy to draw. It still feels classic but a lot of the detail was simplified.

025 Metroid + Co

Samus Aran and the Baby Metroid:)

I think I'm done with this. Though I think I got a little carried away. I did the line work during lunch and colored it when I got home. Trying new stuff as always .

M is for a Moment...

A quick tonal sketch of Samus and a friend to finish up the day.

I worked this one as light on dark as apposed to say black on white. Seems I got red and green to work together on this one:)

On another note I already miss the cintiq from my last job. lol

Zero time

Nintendo's Samus Aran in her Metroid Zero, Zero Suit

I still remember playing the first Metroid on the NES so many years ago. The final mind blowing twist after defeating Mother Brain and escaping the base's self destruction it is revealed that Samus was a woman!
