I had meant for this to be 30 and I'm kinda reusing the pose from yesterday, but I wanted to start drawing hands. The second hand wasn't working so I dropped it.
Tifa was one of the first pugilists in an RPG that I remember playing and she is still one of my favorites.
I'm back from Seattle.
Just trying out some simple black and white.
I'm too tired for much else.
The red is taken from the trailer for Persona3 Portable.
I hope they translate this game soon (although its not out in Japan yet)
Damn she looks grumpy. One of those un thought about pics. I just couldn't think this morning. I think I got up too early.
Someone asked me the other day how I'm colouring at the moment. The colours are flat with colourized grey level for shadows with a linear burn blend. I find I like linear blend over multiply because it gives me more control over the resulting shadow colour
I said wanted to try something different. I remembered the song from the series and thought of this.
If you get the chance and you're a Macross (Robotech) fan, track down this series. I watched it on line. It's a lot of fun with some aewsome space battles (unlike Macross 7). The last battle is a 2 episode epic complete with deuleling songstresses. Only in Macross would that work.
Reminds me that I need to study hands. I had a rough idea of what I wanted, got a little lost on the way. Ended up confusing some layers. I'm thinking that 30 minutes isn't enough but then I remember that these are just exercises and I shouldn't worry so much.
Well another pugilist for this morning's exercise. Persona 3 was an interesting game where the character's special attacks involved them shooting them selves in the head.
Kinda meh about the pic though. Seemed like a good idea when I sat down, maybe I'm just too tired this morning. Good thing this is just exercise :)
Though I may have out grown her she 'll always be my first video game girl.
Thought I try a harder brush for line this morning... and it fought me all the way. Probably partially to do with the pose to. Too early in the morning to be trying this.
Overall not bad, just less dynamic as I had in my head. I really need more time for something like this. It needs a strong foundation. Needs strong legs...
Another red head. For this mornings sketch I had the pose in mind and the character appeared as I was loading up photoshop. Nice when that happens. The colours came out a little strong but that could be just the contrast of the colour against white.
Vanessa is a King of Fighter's pugilist. She's got some great animations in the game. It's funny, I've always been a Street fighter fan but recently with Capcom going 3D with the series I find myself drawn to SNK's series. Especially with the new KOF being 2D.
Yuzu Tanikawa from Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor in 30
This morning I wanted to try colour so here we go. A quick sketch followed by quick lines, then flat colours with a grey overlay done with a linear burn. It worked out quite well and was quick to do.
I'm looking for buy a new DS game and it looks like this may be the one. If I pick it up I'll let you know what it's like.
This morning I thought I'd try out some brushes and what better way than with fur. It really could be any bear but I had Kuma in mind when I started. Hey does this classify as a Canadian theme, you know a martial arts bear.
Fran the Viera from Square Enix's FFXII in about 45
I've got a small thing for bunny girls. I don't know why but there you go.
I slept in the last few days, I've been pretty busy. In my head I started thinking that I'd draw in the evening or something. 2 missing days later I knew it wasn't happening. So I realized that if I want to really do this I've got to make time and get up.
